Advertising visitors see inside the pages

Our ad strips at the top and bottom of pages, the mid-page ad, the full-screen interstitial, the gate ad before some actions, Google ads (AdSense on the web, AdMob in the app), and how plans remove them.

This file is about commercial advertising shown to visitors — not users' classified ads.

Types

  1. Top strip and bottom strip (our ads): a moving strip managed by the Bazarrna team, at the top and bottom of every site's pages. It rotates automatically (and pauses on touch), and you can swipe it or pick a slide from the dots below it; each ad has its own display time, and the title follows the interface language. Strip ratio 3: 1 (recommended size for anyone designing an ad: 1500×500). The site's own ads are shown together with ads meant for all sites, up to 10 slides per strip.
    • It continues the cycle where you left off: ads you haven't seen come first (older ones before newer), ads you've seen come last, and once you've seen them all a new cycle starts. For signed-in users this is remembered on the account across all devices; for visitors, on their device.
    • The top and bottom strips don't show the same ad at the same moment.
    • Google ads are chosen by Google itself — the cycle applies to our ads only.
  2. Mid-page ad: inside long lists after half of the items — and only when the list has 6 or more items — on the Ads home, the listings list and search results, the Ratings home and place browsing, plus pages in Market and Jobs. Each ad sets which pages it appears on; if a page has no ad, no empty space is left. Mid-page is our ads only (no Google).
  3. Full-screen ad: may appear a short while after opening the site or app — the automatic one at most once per visit — with a close button that appears after a countdown (for a video ad it follows the video length within a maximum). There is a time gap between two full-screen ads and a daily cap per device. It never appears before you answer the cookie banner. In data-saver mode or on a slow connection the video is not downloaded (its image is shown instead).
  4. A short ad before some actions: a brief ad moment may appear after what you typed is checked and before the action runs when: posting or editing a listing · adding a rating · suggesting a place · applying to open a store · applying for a job · uploading a CV · creating a company or posting a job. If it cannot be shown for any reason your action goes ahead immediately — it never blocks you. And it is never placed before a payment step (Market checkout · promotion · VIP · Jobs billing).
  5. Google ads: AdSense on the website and AdMob (banner and full-screen) in the apps.

Who decides what appears

  • For each placement the team chooses its source (our ads · Google · a mix of both) and the device it appears on (all devices · mobile · desktop). A placement not meant for your screen is not drawn at all.
  • Google ads may be shown instead of ours when ours run out in the strips or the full-screen ad, if the team chose so.
  • There is no limit on the number of our ads in the cycle: each one gets its turn for every viewer.
  • Timings (rotation, full-screen delay, countdown, gap, daily cap) are set by the team and are not fixed numbers.

Removing ads with plans

Three features any plan can grant (or that can be sold alone), not part of the free tier (everyone sees ads by default):

  • No Google ads — no AdSense and no AdMob (banner and full-screen).
  • No in-page house ads — no strips at the top and bottom of pages.
  • No full-screen ads — no full-screen ad (automatic and before actions, ours and Google's).

While you hold an active plan granting them — by purchase, a grant from Bazarrna, membership of a subscribed company, or a VIP package that includes them — that kind of ad is not sent to you at all, so it works even on older app versions. See Plans, limits and payment — on the website and inside the apps.

Privacy

  • Choosing “Essential only” in the cookie banner on the website ⟶ Google ads (AdSense) are non-personalised for you.
