Al-Hamidiyah Souq

سوق الحميدية من أشهر أسواق دمشق القديمة، ويمتد نحو 600 متر من شارع الثورة حتى ساحة الجامع الأموي، حيث تقوم بقايا معبد جوبيتر الروماني. بُني نحو عام 1780 في عهد السلطان عبد الحميد الأول ووُسّع في عهد السلطان عبد الحميد الثاني، ويغطيه سقف معدني مقوّس. يضم مئات المحلات التي تبيع الألبسة والحرف التقليدية والمجوهرات، إلى جانب محلات الأطعمة والبوظة.

Al-Hamidiyah Souq is one of the best-known markets of Old Damascus, running about 600 metres from Al-Thawra Street to the Umayyad Mosque square, where the remains of the Roman Temple of Jupiter stand. It was built around 1780 under Sultan Abdul Hamid I and extended under Sultan Abdul Hamid II, and is covered by an arched metal roof. It holds hundreds of shops selling clothes, traditional crafts and jewellery, along with food and ice cream shops.
